
Belfast born mezzo-soprano Laura is based in Denmark and enjoys a busy concert schedule in Europe as well as touring further afield.
She began her professional singing life in the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. After a while living on a volcano in Sicily, she lived in London where she performed with a variety of ensembles including Arcangelo, The Dunedin Consort, Siglo de Oro, Polyphony & The Gabrieli Consort. Laura performs regularly with the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Sestina and is a regular member of Ars Nova Copenhagen and Theatre of Voices.
Recent solo performances have included Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and Bach’s ‘St Matthew Passion’ with the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Peter Whelan, Pärt Passio and Stabat Mater with Theatre of Voices and Paul Hillier and a recording and performance of Graupner Cantatas with Camerata Øresund and Fieri Consort.
Upcoming solo performances in 2025 include Handel’s ‘Messiah’ with Ulster Consort and Matthew Owens, Bach ‘Christmas Oratorio’ with Peter Whelan and the Irish Baroque Orchestra and a festive recital with pianist Miles Lallemant in Denmark.
2025 has also been an exciting year for ensemble work. Highlights have included a visit to Carnegie Hall and King’s Place for a programme of Julia Wolfe, Michael Gordon and John Luther Adams with Theatre of Voices, Handel’s ‘Alexander’s Feast’ at the BBC proms and a ‘B Minor mass’ in Dublin with the Irish Baroque Orchestra and a trip to Edinburgh Festival with Ars Nova Copenhagen.
